The Culinary Tech Center believes that quality career education can lead to a successful and rewarding future. Our programs are designed to help students learn the skills needed for entry level employment in the culinary and hospitality fields as well as to develop the habits of lifelong learning needed in today’s ever-changing job market.
Our experienced culinary faculty is dedicated to preparing students with the techniques, knowledge and professionalism needed to enter and succeed in the culinary field. Our curriculum includes industry standard knife skills, culinary terminology, intense food preparation methods, menu planning, catering and plating techniques. Students are exposed to international and regional cuisines and so much more. Students are also required to complete a food sanitation course, approved by the New York City Department of Health that prepares our students for the NYC Food Handler’s Certification. Our students complete their externship and become employed in restaurants, corporate dining facilities, colleges and institutions, hotels, to name a few.
The hospitality industry is a broad service field that includes hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruises, convention centers, theme parks, private clubs and many others within the tourism industry. If you have a passion for providing service to others and enjoy working in a dynamic field, this career may be for you! Within 6 months, our students learn front office operations, housekeeping and facilities management, food and beverage operations and other courses that prepare them to succeed in the hospitality field. Our students are prepared to sit for the Food Handler’s Certification Exam, through the New York City Department of Health.
